What are you do when things don’t go like you thought they would?

Do you get mad? Do you get angry? Do you run and hide? Do you feel resentful?

I’m here to tell you that it’s OK if you feel like that, but we don’t want to stay there.


I just got back from an amazing mastermind trip in West Palm Beach, Florida, with my mentor, Lethia Owens. It was amazing, and I had a list of awesome projects I wanted to work on. But when I got home, nothing went like I thought it would. I had to go into mom mode, rescue mode. I had to take care of one sick kid, one injured kid, one sick dog and a car insurance issue.

It all got handled, but none of the work that I thought it would get done got done. I was disappointed, angry and a little resentful.

But I remembered three things that helped me walk through the muck with more peace and ease.

1. Give yourself grace.

Self-compassion is key at this moment, not beating yourself up.

2. Take it one step at a time.

Go into triage mode if you have to.

Do the next right action.

3. Take it to God.

Lay it all out there. Let Father know what you're really feeling. He can handle it.

Also, you can pray ahead of time when you have a plan that you're really looking forward to. God lives outside of time so that you can cover it in prayer ahead of time.
