097 - How to practice the presence of God – Power in the Now

Have you ever prayed or read the Bible yet felt like something was missing?

Do you enjoy your time with God, or does it ever feel like a chore?

Does life leave you feeling unfilled or dissatisfied?

Today we’re continuing our conversation about practicing the presence of God.

Today is for you:

  • If you want to experience God firsthand.

  • If you want to enjoy life to the fullest.

  • If you’re tired of feeling unfilled or something is missing.

There is power in the now…

Yesterday was Halloween in the US. We had a super fun time with our kids tricker-treating. I continually thanked God for the beautiful weather, the time with our kids, and how much they’ve grown, and it made this experience easier…LOL. I was in the moment, and life felt awesome.

There were many times when I wasn’t in the moment with my family. I was there but wasn’t there…and I missed out. Have you ever experienced that?

But yesterday, I tasted and enjoyed that experience with my family and God. I felt the power of the NOW.

We experience God in the now. He’s always in this moment–in the now.

Everything we need is right here and right now.

  • We experience God now.

  • We taste God now.

  • We enjoy God now.

Enjoy now because the next moment will have its own taste and enjoyment for us to experience.

When we don’t taste and enjoy the now moments in His presence, we’ll never feel fulfilled or like we never have enough or are enough.

Use Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God,” to practice His presence.

You’ll speak out loud or to yourself each segment of the scripture and sit in that moment with it. Roll it over in your mind. Enjoy and savor Father’s presence with you.

Be still and know that I am God.

Then say to yourself –

Be still and know that I am.

Now, say –

Be still and know.

Then say –

Be still.

Finally say –

Be.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. – Psalms 34:8

Use this anytime to practice being in the now. The more you do it, the more you’ll enjoy God’s presence right now and the more you’ll enjoy where you’re at on the way to where you’re going.

I keep this on a sticky note at my desk to center myself when I’m feeling hectic and remind me to enjoy Father’s presence.

Be still and know that I am God.

Be still and know that I am.

Be still and know.

Be still.

Be.

You got this…and Father’s got you!

Thanks a Bunch for listening!
